Running for Boston 5k/10k
The students of the University of Kansas are proud to announce they will be hosting a “Run for Boston” 5K/10K Walk/Run on May 12th, 2013. The run will raise money for the people affected by the bombing that occurred on April 15th, 2013 during the Boston Marathon. All of the money raised will go directly to the One Fund Boston, a relief fund set up by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Tom Menino.
As Americans, our right to peaceful assembly, community spirit and sense of trust were violently attacked on April 15th. While the motivation for the attack is unclear, one thing is certain, it was intended that fear would spread through the hearts of Americans. Help us prove our resilience by running and honoring those who were injured, killed, or traumatized by the terrorist attacks at the Boston Marathon, We will not allow this attack to hinder our spirit of giving, let it deter us from living up to our American values, or defeat our trust in humanity.
